For Gastrophobia’s 12 year anniversary, I’m bringing back the comic with a 4-page update!
After a 3 year hiatus, you’re probably wondering what I’ve been doing all this time.
WELL, in 2017, three things happened to me:
- I turned 40 and had a small mid-life crisis.
- ⚧︎ I finally admitted to myself that I’m transgender!!! ⚧︎
- Lost most of my stuff in Hurricane Harvey (my home was under water).
So!
I saved my car, my computer, my sister’s cat, and 1 week’s worth of clothes. I lived in a hotel for a few months, started laser hair removal, moved to an apartment in Galveston, replaced my entire wardrobe with stuff from the women’s side of the department store, came out to my family, came out to my friends, came out online, started hrt in summer of 2018, moved to Minneapolis to live with two cool queer cartoonists and two cool calico cats, wore a skirt in public for the first time at the state fair, came out at work, and changed my name. Whew!
My name’s Daisy and my pronouns are she/her! Everyone’s been ridiculously supportive and I’m way happier now than I’ve ever been! 💕
Gastrophobia is getting a partial reboot.
The first 3 volumes are still canon. The 43 story pages I drew from 2015-2016 are retconned. They still exist and can be found here. I’m different now and I’m taking the comic in a different direction.
I’ve relaunched my Patreon if you want to support me!
Thanks for reading! ✨
