A "silver owl" is slang for the Athenian tetradrachm, because it has an owl on the back. It's worth 4 drachmas.  Pictured is a rare Inconsequentian tetradrachm, which is just an Athenian tetradrachm but someone scratched "ΑΘΕ" out.
